Sauce Labs #1: Maple & Black Garlic Sriracha

Every sauce has a story, and this one starts with Sriracha—the classic that got so many of us hooked on hot sauce in the first place. For me, it was one of the first sauces that made its way onto everything: eggs, pizza, noodles, you name it. It also ended up being the sauce that stayed on my desk at work for hot sauce emergencies (IYKYK).

With our first Sauce Labs release, we wanted to honor that staple while making it our own. Maple & Black Garlic Sriracha takes what’s familiar and twists it in a few delicious ways.

We blended red jalapeños with charred red bell peppers for a deep, rounded flavor. Vermont maple syrup brings subtle sweetness that balances the heat, while aged black garlic adds a rich umami depth you don’t usually find in a Sriracha. The result is smooth, medium heat with a sweet–savory balance that works on just about anything.

This first batch is truly small—just 36 bottles, each filled, labeled, and numbered by hand. Because this sauce comes from Sauce Labs, it’s part of our new limited-batch series: small runs that let us experiment, play, and share flavor ideas in real time.
